Top 5 and first podium at Sepang: a promising start to the 2025/2026 Asian Le Mans Series for Forestier Racing by VPS

Saint-Georges-de-Commiers, December 18, 2025

The opening round of the 2025–2026 Asian Le Mans Series took place last week at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, marking an intense and promising start to the season for the team.

As early as Thursday, during the Collective Tests, the trio of drivers Lucas Fecury, Nick Adcock and Luciano Morano, at the wheel of the #29 car, were able to get to grips with the Malaysian circuit. Friday’s free practice sessions then allowed the crew to find their rhythm and fine-tune their preparation ahead of the weekend’s races.

On Saturday morning, during qualifying, Luciano posted 7th and then 6th fastest times encouraging results that hinted at high ambitions for the first race in the afternoon.

The race gets underway with Luciano at the wheel. Very quickly, an accident involving five of the ten cars entered in the LMP3 category disrupts the start of the race. The #29 car is forced to return to the pits after sustaining some damage in a collision.

Thanks to the quick and efficient work of the mechanics, the car is back on track a few minutes later in 7th position. Malaysian weather then adds another challenge: heavy rain leads to four safety car deployments, along with two additional neutralizations, making strategy particularly complex.

By mid-race, the #29 had climbed up to 6th place, and Nick handed over to Lucas. After three hours of racing, Luciano took the wheel to finish the opening round.

At the end of an intense race, the #29 crossed the finish line in a strong 5th place to kick off the season.

The second race of the weekend was once again heavily affected by the weather conditions. Repeated showers at Sepang forced the team to constantly adapt. The race was marked by three safety car deployments and two full neutralizations.

Starting from 6th position, the #29 set off with Nick Adcock at the wheel. Aggressive in the opening corners, he managed to gain three positions while battling the #85 from R-ace GP, determined to regain the lead.

By mid-race, the #29 had moved up to 5th position, which it held for nearly an hour before climbing to 3rd place.

The race ended prematurely under a red flag, with twenty minutes remaining, as heavy rain flooded the track. The #29 was officially classified in third place, earning the team its first podium of the season.

Thanks to these results, the team leaves Malaysia in 3rd place in the team championship, more motivated than ever to aim for victory in the upcoming rounds.

Congratulations to our drivers and the entire team for this performance, and a big thank you to our partners for their commitment and trust.

The next round of the 2025–2026 Asian Le Mans Series will take place on January 31 and February 1 in the United Arab Emirates, at the Dubai Autodrome.
